This Summer for our 3rd Annual 2018 Scholarship Awards Ceremony, we not only awarded students with Scholarship Funds, but we also took them on an amazing trip to the National Museum of African American History & Culture in Washington, DC !!

Your donations will helped towards the Scholarship Fund and Transportation to the NMAAHC Museum!

Annual NJDC Cares Scholarship Fund:

Each year NJDC Cares, Inc. will award High School Seniors and existing college students, accepted or enrolled into a college or university, with a scholarship towards their college tuition.  The recipients are students from low/moderate income households who have found a way to push through barriers to succeed in school, follow their dreams, and inspire others.

An annual  award banquet is held for the honorees and their family & friends for them to join us as we present their scholarship award and honor them for their leadership, talents, and diligence in striving for excellence!

 

Our 3rd Annual Scholarship Awards Banquet at Central Park Restaurant in Roselle, NJ was a success!!

Esere Onaodowan-Gallo, Esq. was this year’s keynote speaker and Shaniyah J. White gave the Youth keynote address.

Mission: To restore the lives of individuals, families, and the community by providing housing, financial literacy, educational services, job training, and job creation.

Community

NJDC Cares, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in September 2015 by Nasia Smith and Jacquetta Thomas, the “NJ” of NJ Development Coalition and both Alumnae of Rutgers University. NJDC Cares Inc. was formed out of their dreams to use real estate as a vehicle to service the needs of the homeless, youth, families, the community, and to provide modern, affordable housing. The organization’s core values are grounded in partnership and restoring the lives of youth, families, and the community as a whole. Their partnerships with local businesses and organizations has given them the ability to connect with the youth, families, and the community to educate, inspire, and empower all!

NJDC Cares is committed to providing support services and programs to house the homeless, supplying those in need with daily necessities, educating youth and adults on the importance of getting an education, providing substance abuse and mental health awareness,  holistic nutrition, financial literacy, self-sufficiency, home ownership, and entrepreneurship.

The programs and services include, but are not limited to:

  • Transitional Housing for Veterans, homeless individuals, and families (coming soon).
  • Individual and Group Counseling/Support
  • Substance Abuse & Mental Health Awareness
  • Financial Literacy
  • Workshops/Seminars on Homeownership & Entrepreneurship
  • Holistic Health Consulting
  • Annual Scholarship Awards
  • Arts, Culture, and Travel Awareness
